Oh my word. Elise and Elias' wedding at Horning's Hideout in Portland was a Pacific Northwest dream. It was perfectly sentimental, natural, and just so darn beautiful. I couldn't contain my excitement to post photos from this incredible day, so I decided to make a mini blog post so I can share these moments.
I cried my eyes out and I laughed till I cried. So yeah, there were a lot of tears that came with this day. And even more as I was editing the photos. I cannot explain how special the bond that Elise and Elias share. They have sweet, selfless, expressive souls that make you feel so lucky to know them.
Congrats you two! Enjoy the sneak peak, and expect more to come!
I was blessed with the privilege of being a part of Kaylee and Riley's sweet, intimate wedding held in the backyard of Kaylee's parent's house in Spokane. My goodness, it was such a treat to capture such a special day!
Kaylee and Riley's relationship is one to swoon over. Seriously, they are so down-to-earth and cute together. From our first meeting together over Froyo, I knew that I was so lucky to get to work with such a sweet couple! These two are such a breath of fresh air and fit together so perfectly together. They are both so intentional, spunky, adventurous and caring!
Their sweet and simple backyard wedding was one of the most beautiful I had ever seen! They lined the yard with bistro lights hanging from a beautiful, strong tree in the middle of it all. Under the tree was a super cute pink door that Kaylee found years ago and thought would be a perfect focal point. It was so romantic and cozy!
Kaylee even wore the earrings that her grandmother wore on her wedding day! Her grandmother laid out lots of jewelry for Kaylee to choose from, and Kaylee picked the ones from her Grandmother's wedding day without even knowing it.
I am so happy that I got to be a part of the celebration with their closest family and friends! Kaylee and Riley, I wish you the absolute best as you go on this adventure! You have so many amazing things to look forward to! I am so so excited for you!
I got to go on the most beautiful road trip to St. Maries, Idaho to photograph Rachel and Ben's wedding. As I was driving down the winding roads between the all the lakes, I couldn't help but stop and take it all in. The wedding was held in Ben's back yard and was seriously SO sweet! The best part of the ceremony was a complete surprise. Ben pulled out his guitar in the middle of the ceremony and sang a song that he wrote to Rachel. He sang about how he met this beautiful woman dancing, and their story to their wedding day. Most of the audience was in tears. It was so heartfelt and beautiful!
Rachel and Ben are so laid back, humble, genuine and full of love and respect for each other. I could see the care Ben had for Rachel just beaming from his eyes. As Rachel walked over for the first look, he had romantic music playing from his phone, which made a sweet moment even more emotional and sentimental.
Thank you Rachel and Ben for allowing me to capture your special day! It was an honor to be there with your close family and friends to celebrate and document your sweet story!
I had the sweetest time with Maddie and Tom. They are the couple that is so fun-loving and easy to talk to! I could hang out with them for hours and just laugh and listen to their stories!
Maddie and Tom met at Whitworth and are seriously a dream couple! They are the ultimate best-friend couple with sweet romance. Their excitement and joy to be around each other is so contagious. They have been together for 5 years and it is such an honor that I get to photograph their wedding in September!
Tom planned the sweetest proposal for Maddie that was so perfect for them. It was sweet, intimate, and sentimental. He was so thoughtful about planning it out. He even designed Maddie's ring: a stunning solitaire with dainty side accents.
We decided to do the engagement session in the exact same spot he proposed, and I couldn't be happier! We wandered through the switchbacks of the forest and had a blast.
Congrats you two!
I got the privilege of photographing Shane and Amanda’s wedding at Gonzaga University campus here in snowy Spokane, WA, I had the fortunate opportunity to photograph Amanda and Shane inside the hallowed halls of the St. Aloysius Church. The cathedral is the campus’s crown jewel, and that’s no exaggeration – I was completely taken aback by its beautiful gothic architecture and intricately designed stained glass.
As a classic Gonzaga romance goes, Amanda and Shane stumbled into each other on campus, and soon their little campus crush turned into a lifelong journey together! They complement each other in every way possible – even Amanda’s grades balance out her husband’s! Jokes aside, the two of them absolutely are meant for each other, and even in the simplest glances between them, their love was effortlessly conveyed.
The best part is that even Mother Nature seemed to be rejoicing with the newlyweds; we were all greeted by a breathtaking snowfall! They frolicked around in the winter wonderland, and I am ecstatic that I got to photograph their adorable little play session! Amanda stood out like a perfect winter beauty: her beaded dress exuded pure elegance, and her fur coat was the embodiment of elegance.
And, like true Zags, once the reception came around, everyone knew exactly how to throw the ultimate party! I haven’t had this much excitement at the afterparty in who knows how long! Kids, students, and alumni alike were busting it out on the dance floor at the Lincoln Center and laughing their hearts out. Thank you, Amanda and Shane, for inviting me to Gonzaga and letting me partake in your special day.
For this wedding, I got the chance to travel right in my own backyard – well, more specifically, the backyard of the groom’s parents! The property was in North Spokane, WA and had lush, verdant plant life, and impeccable landscaping. Special thanks to Michael’s family for having us there! What was especially unique about the venue was how Hannah and Michael said their “I do’s” on the top of a massive rock, as the wedding guests admired in awe from down below. Such a special, intimate way to tie the knot!
Hannah and Michael have the cutest little “how we met” story: Michael worked at the same place where Hannah was interning! As a photographer and graphic designer, she hit it off working and thriving creatively alongside him. So, naturally, once the internship was over, Michael took his shot and asked her out! Together they have gone on many adventures, whether it’s admiring dreamcatchers in gift shops or visiting sheepdogs on Vashon Island!
I loved the smaller, private feel of the venue. For the reception, the couple put out farm tables underneath some tents, adorning them with elegant garland and cranberry accents. Along with the lights strung about, the place made me feel like I was front seat to a beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime spectacle. And thank you for the pashmina scarf you gave out as wedding favors! It’s basically the softest piece of fabric that I’ve ever owned! Everyone compliments me on that scarf and I always gush about how cool your wedding favors were!
Michael is so endearingly – I could just see in Hannah’s face that with him around, everything was at peace. It’s easy to see how his outgoing and lovable personality completely charmed Hannah the moment they met. Their interactions were so genuine and meaningful! His bear hugs and pecks on her cheek showed that Michael was thrilled that this girl was his, for life. I wish you the absolute best!
